What a slot actually is, mathematically

A slot is a negative expectation game. Bonanza Billion returns roughly 96% of everything staked over a very large number of spins, which means the remaining 4% is the cost of playing it. That figure is a long-run average across millions of spins by everyone, not a promise about your session. Over a hundred spins you might be up 40x or down to zero, and both are ordinary results.

High volatility, which is what Bonanza Billion is, makes that spread wider in both directions. Long stretches return nothing, and the money is concentrated in rare bonus rounds. That is the design, not a malfunction.

Things that are not true, however often you read them

A machine is never "due". Every spin is generated independently. A grid that has paid nothing for 200 spins has exactly the same chance on spin 201 as it had on spin 1.
There are no hot or cold cycles. A certified RNG has no memory. Patterns you notice in a session are the ordinary lumpiness of random results, visible only in hindsight.
Raising your stake does not recover a loss. It increases the size of the next result in both directions while leaving the maths untouched.
No betting system beats a fixed house edge. Not Martingale, not stopping the reels, not switching games, not the time of day.

If a strategy claims to predict slot outcomes, the person selling it is describing the gambler's fallacy. Budgeting is a real skill. Outcome prediction is not a thing.

Practical limits that work

Set the loss limit before the first spin, as a number, and treat it as spent money the moment you deposit.
Size the bet from the budget, not the other way round. Divide your session budget by 150–200 spins and bet that.
Set a time limit too. Money limits do not catch long sessions at tiny stakes, which are their own problem.
Decide the walk-away figure for a win while you are still calm enough to pick one.
Never play with money committed elsewhere, and never with borrowed money.
Never chase. A session that ends at the limit was a successful session.

Warning signs

Any of the following is worth taking seriously:

playing longer or for more than you planned, repeatedly;
returning to win back losses;
borrowing, selling or reallocating money in order to play;
hiding how much you play, or lying about it;
restlessness or irritation when you try to stop;
play interfering with work, sleep, money or people you care about;
gambling to manage stress, boredom or low mood.

One of these on its own may mean little. Several together, or one that keeps recurring, is a signal to stop and get outside help.

Tools your casino must give you

Every licensed operator provides these in the account settings, and using them is normal rather than an admission of anything:

Deposit limits – daily, weekly or monthly caps.
Loss and wager limits – ceilings independent of deposits.
Session reminders – a clock that interrupts you.
Time-out – a short lock, from a day to several weeks.
Self-exclusion – a long or permanent block, in many markets extending across every licensed operator at once.

Limits typically apply immediately when tightened and only after a cooling-off period when loosened. That delay is deliberate and it is on your side.
